Continuing with our community involvement month, Kusig from the WOW boards has provided us some insight to follow onto Pojo's questions from last week. Ladies and Gents... Kusig...
The announcement has been made and the panic has begun. The battle lines have been drawn. Do you have what it takes to survive? Today I will go over some in depth analysis of the battlefield you MUST survive in order to be the first WOW Minis World Champion!
Let's first take a look at the key features of this map. First, the Flag is worth SEVEN honor points. That's a HUGE amount! But is the time it takes to get to the flag and return it really worth the reward? You dedicate roughly 6 turns getting to the flag and running it back. All while being susceptible to your opponent's attacks. However, if you can withstand the onslaught, the rewards are great!
Secondly, the two sides are NOT identical. This means that choosing sides may have some relevance to you. If you notice the three spots on the bottom left of the map are in a triangle formation. You can place your vulnerable character in the corner and your other 2 blocking them in, thereby protecting them from potential threats.
Perhaps a certain infinite range epic next to a Moonkin Druid and Savin to shoot every turn for 5 magic damage? While that may not be viable it is worth investigating the possibilities.
As a third piece of information that is particularly valuable is that as long as you are standing on your opponent's spawn point. They are unable to capture the flag. Could this be the return of HHT? or the Sweet Spot for Velen Wall? You decide.
There are also two holes on either side between the hills from which your opponents will use to try and run the flag. If you can plug those holes you get to eliminate the scenario or at the very least make your opponent take extra turns to get his flag back.
Lastly, the Perch. Right smack in the middle of the map are two hills from which you can shoot every possible line a flag runner want's to go for easy caps. Plant a Hunter or two there and it's shooting gallery time. Everyone's favorite Legendary Mage can stand in between the hunters making fun times had by all.
Until Next Time, Let Khaos Reign.

What do you think? Is Kusig right on? Are we going to see outright deaths or people capping flags? What's your take on the map and the scenario, and what band, or bands, do you think benefit from is the most? Best of luck in playtesting, we'll see you at worlds!
